The year 2024 has been truly remarkable for the Greek tech ecosystem. From startups successfully securing over €500M funding from venture capital firms to dynamic community activities that promote entrepreneurship and innovation, the progress has been inspiring.

A heartfelt shout-out goes to all the key players making this ecosystem thrive —entrepreneurs leading startups and scaleups, accelerators, incubators, co-working spaces, investors, mentors, advisors, universities, media, research and advocacy groups, entrepreneurship support organizations, corporates, regional governments, and startup employees. Without the collective efforts and contributions of these actors, a thriving entrepreneurship ecosystem would not be possible.

Our Year In Review
The Story Behind Techincider

When I first moved to Athens, navigating the entrepreneurship ecosystem was a real challenge. Information about startups, tech events, opportunities for entrepreneurs, and general technology news was scattered and hard to come by. To make sense of it all, I started a personal journal, jotting down updates about the ecosystem.

As I attended events and engaged with others in the community, I discovered I wasn’t alone as many people were just as eager to stay informed about the tech scene as I was.

Fast forward to May 2024: I decided to turn my personal notes into something more public and published the first edition of Techincider. Looking back, that first attempt was far from perfect and I was my own audience.

Today, we have grown into a platform that captures the pulse of the Greek tech ecosystem. With over 22,400 words written, an impressive 73.1% average open rate, with over 200+ weekly readers and 33 weeks of consistent updates, it has evolved from a personal project to a data room, documenting the growth, activities, and milestones of the Greek tech ecosystem week after week.
